As the host David says in his intro, the crowd is about to, “experience a whole other dimension right now — we will be levitating here very soon and Ron has a way of doing that.” 

This piece was produced by me (see noel.cv), shot as a one-person-crew and edited on a quick turnaround. I hope it conveys Ron’s raw feeling and presence in the room during the first half of his epic intimate show.

The feel of this beautiful performance was filmed from three fixed-position cameras and a handheld. With no board audio feed, two recorders were placed strategically to get the sound field. The result? You be the judge, but I believe this video imparts the artist and band, the people and the venue coming together with a lovely community vibe.

Gratefully I followed my gut feeling to bring my run-and-gun multi-cam kit with me to the show in case a recording wasn’t already planned. This spontaneous production was OK’ed on the spot after a short convo with Ron and David.

Ron was backed by the tremendously talented and prolific players Sam Arnold on bass and Josh Green on drums.
